Late Light on a Dark Sky is a collection of moments of vision-some funny, some decidedly not. It meanders along a kind of path: through poems about the natural world, poems about my dogs and my work as an advocate at Applecrest, poems about sorrow and loss, and finally poems about lust for life, in all its gorgeous golden glory. The book's purpose is to share these moments of vision with you.

Beautifully crafted poems of joy and care By Philip Straffin These beautifully crafted poems talk about the insights, and the joy, we can find in the outdoors, in the play of light, in music, in a new puppy, in working with people trying to keep dignity in the institutional setting of an assisted living facility. The poet's voice can vary from deep and warm to light and funny, but there is always careful attention to language and rhythm, and always sympathy for the human condition. I read the poems slowly, with great pleasure, and gratitude.

Mortensen Mark Nepo says in his Book of Awakening, "Indeed, when one heart speaks, all hearts fly. This is what it means to be great--to speak what feels unspeakable and have it release what waits in us all." Judith's poetry touches that waiting place again and again, whether marveling at a puppy, helping to enter an elder's experience or turning an eye on a particular light on a dark sky.
