Meraki is a unique collection of poetry that hints at the darker side of love, exploring the destruction love can create. The poems in this collection are weaved with words, soft dreams and fairy tales. Meraki is the perfect accompaniment to a Sunday morning and a cup of coffee, but would also be paired well with a glass of wine and a soft rain.

Just look at it! And marvel in its wonderfulness. and just everything about it is wonderful and magical. If you're one for beautiful little sketches, Meraki definitely is the anthology for you. The sketches are placed mostly in the beginning of the book, and are connected to the poetry that follows them. They're beautifully drawn, with a simplicity that makes them all the more enchanting. They're almost like little previews into the pretty poems.Okay, now the actual writing part. I really, really love Michelle's writing. It's so exquisitely descriptive and i love the metaphors and descriptions. She really does a good job on capitalizing on the small, seemingly insignificant aspects of life and transforming them into something wonderfully sweet or heartbreaking.Technically speaking, Michelle's anthology isn't without errors; there were definitely a few I could spot while reading, and sometimes in attempting to either keep the flow or poetic nature of the writing, the structure isn't all correct. There are a few awkward bits here and there in the syntax and building of the sentence and phrases, but they don't detract too much from the reading, and have no effect on the overall impact of her message.I really like how she addresses a myriad of different aspects of life in such a short, succinct manner. Michelle doesn't only address the sweet, floral side of love, she also takes the reader for a whirl into the darker side of life. Even if you aren't the biggest fan of poetry, I think Michelle's anthology is definitely worth a peek, for all the small, powerful moments she gifts you with her words. Meraki was a dream to read, and I most certainly will be coming back again and again to revisit Michelle's amazing poetry.
