Using the writings of Thomas Jefferson as a framework and textual source, the poems offer a counter- narrative and a shade of depth to the controversial relationship. The collection—written as love letters, laws and language exercises—challenges the ownership of facts—puncturing and punctuating the silence of history.

About the Author Aichlee Bushnell was born and raised in Philadelphia. A Cave Canem fellow, she holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Mills College. OBJECTS OF ATTENTION, winner of the 2014 Noemi Press Book Award for Poetry, is her first book. She currently lives in Oakland, California with her husband.

It was especially remarkable the way the author wrote it in Spanish and translated to English that made it much more affectionate and passionate. A book that you can reread with depth and continue to get emotion from within.
